It was the cover he made for the book Instrumental (Blackie Books) about the pianist James Rhodes, which positioned him in the place where perhaps should have been much before. David de las Heras (Bilbao, 1984) is an illustrator and plastic artist who has already opened an important creative line in Spain.

He has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country and has exhibited his work in countries such as Germany and Portugal, and has illustrated texts by authors such as Arianna Squilloni and Julio Llamazares. In 2015 he won the award for the best cover of the Junceda Awards for the book Kalimán in Jericó (Bambu Publishing House).

His work, marked by an introspective and sensorial realism, has led him to publish regularly in newspapers such as El Pais, the cultural supplement of the newspaper ABC or El País Semanal. He belongs to a new group of contemporary painters whose work will have influence in entire generations and will guides them through the aesthetic sense, not always optimistic but hopeful, of the characters he paints.
