Self conversation

"Making a portrait is much more than trying to capture the physiognomy of a person, more than the personal interpretation of individual features and more than the personal projection of the artist in the portrayed. A portrait narrates the story of a meeting, a way of approaching to the other person, a moment of human intimacy". This artwork by Mai Blanco is part of a series that include a self portrait and three portraits of three friends of the artist - who do not know each other but who, within these works, remain united in the affective side of the creator -. This self-portrait, morphologically fictitious, arises from a dialogue with herself in front of the mirror.
