Miguel Ángel Martín

You might recognize him by his nickname, Mrtn, because at a glance you're sure to have seen it before. It's because he is one of the most illustrious Spanish comic cartoonists with international acclaim.

Martín (León, 1960) has been one of the star writers for Víbora magazine for years, but he has also worked intensely with magazines such as Factory, RockDeLux, and Subterfuge. He is one of the greats, who has even gone as far as making a comic for the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum (2014) whose characters exude innocence but later land a sucker punch.

His graphic art is overwhelmingly original, and his personal mythology, on horseback through science fiction, using technology and acidic wit, with a certain cruelty – sometimes not so well understood -, along with the absence of prejudice and a taste for pornography, have brought this artist a good handful of devotees and unconditional support all around, especially in Italy, where he has become indispensable and they pay homage to him everywhere.
